This year (2014) is the year when Tetris celebrates its 30th birthday. Back in 1984, on June 6 was released a new game that will be remembered as one of their favorite games for many generations.

Alexey Pajitnov is responsible for all those happy moments in children’s lives, but the adults around them were also infected by the cool addiction called Tetris. It is known that the coworkers needed to play Tetris hiding themselves of their company employers, becasue it distract them all in the work. Despite the messy history of gaming Tetris is still a favorite choice of many gamers.
Initially Alexey created the game on Elektronika 60 and latter it was imported to IBM PC. Finally, after many complications Nintendo, the Japanese multinational consumer electronics company, got the control over it and things were settled at the end of the 1980’s. As for many game developers, Alexey Pajitnov too, did not get royalties for his efforts until 12 years after the game was first released. But that was not a problem for him, because as he says his was very proud and happy to see the players enjoy the game. Following the authentic progression of Tetris, Alexey created various video games a lot like Tetris, however they never ever got popular just as the initial edition. Nevertheless, these games never became popular like Tetris.
As everything else about Tetris the theme song is also a Russian folk song, which on the other hand was founded during the 19th century, representing a romantic story about a peddler and a beautiful girl.
The original version of Tetris has
no end, so technically it’s impossible to win the game. Even if you score the
maximum 999,999 points, the game still will not be defeated.
Tetris consists of 2 words. The initial one has been Tetra which in Greek language means 4, while the other is literally tennis, simply developed by Payitnov's ideal sport.
